WHAT IS A CHROME EXCHANGE?

The chrome exchange is when you exchange your set of factory wheels (not previously chromed or with any non-factory finish) for an identical set in our chrome finish.

How do I know that these wheels will fit my car?

Since this is a Chrome Exchange, you already own the same wheels for your car in order to do the exchange.  We are sending you the same wheels, only with our specialty chrome finish.  Your wheels CANNOT be previously chrome plated, have any major curb damage, or be out of round.  We MAY accept minor curb damage if told in advance – contact us at info@lawheel.com or (818) 626-8867 or toll free at (800) 584-2832.

Can I still purchase the wheels if I don’t have wheels to exchange?

Absolutely, but understand that the pricing is different, as we are no longer receiving your original wheels to chrome and resell; essentially, when you are doing an exchange, you are simply paying for the chroming, and not the wheel (thus the great pricing!).  To buy a wheel outright, simply contact us for current pricing and listings: info@lawheel.com or (818) 626-8867 or toll free at (800) 584-2832.

If my wheels do not qualify for Chrome Exchange, can I get still get  a credit for them?

Maybe, depending on why they do not qualify and the condition of the wheels.  This is determined on a case by case basis.  If it interests you, please contact us: info@lawheel.com or (818) 626-8867 or toll free at (800) 584-2832.

SHIPPING TIME AND COSTS

How long before my order ships?

Most orders ship in 3 – 5 business days unless otherwise stated.  We will contact you right away in case of a delay.  We are 100% committed to shipping you a perfectly straight and true set of wheels.  There are times when wheels do not pass our stringent quality control standards, which may cause a short delay.

How much does it cost to ship my wheels / shipping outside the U.S.?

We ship to you within the 48 continental United States for free.  If you are returning wheels to us (for example, if you do a chrome exchange), you are responsible for the return shipping, but we may be able to sell you discounted return shipping labels.

For other locations and for return shipping rates please call or refer to the eBay listing.   For all international customers, you are responsible for 100% of all duties, tariffs and taxes where applicable.  We fill out the invoice with the most accurate merchandise description to prevent any overcharges from customs.  Exchanges are only done in the USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

How long do I have to return my old wheels to you?

We must receive your factory wheels 14 days from the day you receive our chrome set.  Since most wheels take 5-7 days to travel in the USA, this gives you approximately 7 days to have our new chrome wheels installed.

If your wheels are returned after 14 days from the day you receive our chrome set, a late fee (minimum $100) will be deducted from your security deposit.  If you think you may be returning your wheels late, please contact us first to see if we will extend your return time.  A late fee is charged because we have many customers, and a delay in receiving your wheels means a delay for the next customer purchasing the same wheels for their vehicle.  If you do not return your wheels within 8 weeks, you will forfeit 100% of your security deposit.

Can I ship to a different address?

We do ship to addresses other than billing address, but your order must go through a separate verification process, and shipment will be delayed up to 5 business days.

SECURITY DEPOSIT – WHAT IS IT, HOW DO I GET IT BACK OR HOW DO I AVOID IT

What is a security deposit and why do I have to pay it?

The security deposit is required when we ship our wheels to you first in order to cover the possibility of your wheels not being sent to us.  Shipping our wheels to you first allows you to keep driving your vehicle.  The security deposit is refunded when we receive your non-chrome wheels..

·         You can avoid the security deposit by shipping us your wheels first.

·         You can also avoid the security deposit by bringing your car to our shop and we will install the chrome wheels for you on the spot.

·         You can avoid the security deposit by purchasing the wheels outright (using different pricing due to the lack of an exchange; contact us for pricing).

Why is the security deposit so much?

The amount of the deposit varies on the value of the wheels we’re shipping out to you (i.e., a wheel that is a larger diameter will typically have a higher deposit amount).  It roughly covers the estimated costs to us of replacing the wheels in the instance that you do not send your qualifying wheels back to us, or any repairs we may have to do to the set of wheels you send to us (such as if they have curb damage, are out-of-round, etc.).

How long will it take to get my security deposit back?

The security deposit will generally be refunded within 5 business days after we receive your wheels if the wheels qualify for exchange and do not have any damage for which we make a deduction.  It will be refunded the same way that the payment was made.

Will I receive my full deposit back?

That depends on the condition of the wheels you send us.

You need to Inspect Your Old Wheels (wheels you’re returning to us) before you pack them!

L.A. Wheel and Tire understands that it can be disconcerting to learn that the wheels you returned to us were bent (out of round) or warped, especially if you noticed no problems with the handling of your vehicle.

To prevent any surprises, you must have your mounting shop inspect your old wheels by spinning them on a high-speed wheel balancer while you are there in person, so you can see any defects yourself. A wheel that is out of round will usually have a visible hop or a flat spot while it’s rotating on a balancer (usually on the back of the wheel), even if the hop or flat spot is slight.  Please pay careful attention to both the front and back of the wheels.  A center-bent wheel will usually have a horizontal wobble.  Most wheels returned to us are received in good condition and security deposit is promptly refunded in full. However, when defective wheels are received, a cost to restore the wheel to “True” will be deducted.  L.A. Wheel and Tire will try to notify a client if it was necessary to take a deduction from the security deposit for this purpose.

If repairs are required to be performed on repairable wheel(s) being returned as a “core” to L.A. Wheel, there will be a deduction from your core deposit.   Repair costs generally follow these guidelines: $85 – minor wheel repair; $95 – standard wheel repair (most out-of-round wheels); $115 – flat spot /warped wheel repair; $145 – major wheel repair (deep curb rash, etc.).  If the wheel is not repairable, you will be assessed the cost of a replacement wheel calculated as a pro-rated (per wheel) portion of the security deposit. In any event, you will never be liable for any amount exceeding the total amount of your security deposit.

L.A. Wheel and Tire does not accept “core” returns that are not original factory wheels (such as replica/reproduction wheels) and/or wheels that have been previously chrome plated, powder coated, or which have any other non-factory finish.  We do not accept previously repaired wheels, or wheels that have been welded or modified in any way.  Returning “core” wheels that are not acceptable under the preceding two sentences, will result in a 100% deduction from the amount of your deposit that can be refunded.  Any wheel which we find to be non-repairable (incl., but not limited to, wheels that are cracked, welded, corroded, reconditioned or chrome plated or repaired) is considered scrap, and a pro rata portion will be deducted from your security deposit.  In the event of any dispute with you about the condition of your exchange wheel, your sole remedy will be to have the wheel returned to you at your shipping cost, and we shall be entitled to  deduct a pro rata portion of your deposit (plus any shipping cost) to compensate therefore.

Repair costs generally follow these guidelines:

$85 – minor wheel repair
$95 – standard wheel repair (most out-of-round wheels)
$115 – flat spot /warped wheel repair
$145 – major wheel repair (deep curb rash, etc.)

 Wheels that are unacceptable are:

  • Replica / reproduction and all other non-factory wheels

  • Steel wheels

  • Chrome wheels – we use a show-quality, trivalent chroming process that generally makes other chrome wheels pale in comparison to ours, so therefore we cannot accept chrome wheels for an exchange.  We can re-chrome your wheels for you; contact us for more information.

  • Wheels that have been previously plated, or finished (other than factory finish)

  • Chrome clad wheels

  • Pitted / corroded wheels

  • Wheels that have been previously repaired, machined, or welded

  • Wheels that have been modified in any way

  • Wheels bent / damaged beyond repair (including all center-bent wheels)

WARRANTY & RETURNS

How long is your warranty and what does it cover?

Our Chrome Warranty can be found at the top of our store pages.

What if I don’t like the wheels, can I return them?

Certainly!  Customer satisfaction is very important to us, so we accept returns within 7 days.

If you receive defective merchandise, we will provide a replacement.

If you wish to return it for any other reason, you will be subject to a $250 restocking fee.  Shipping charges are non-refundable.  Wheels that have had tires mounted or used in any way are non-returnable; please inspect all wheels fully before mounting or using them in any way.  Return authorization number required for all returns.  Please contact us at info@lawheel.com or (818) 626-8867 or toll free at (800) 584-2832 to obtain a return authorization number.

OTHER BUYING OPTIONS

Can I exchange for 1 wheel only?

Yes, but note that this requires unique procedures based on your situation, so please call us for more information about doing this type of exchange.

What if my car has TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system)?

If your car came equipped with tire pressure sensors, your installer will simply remove and reinstall them on your new chrome wheels.

Can I exchange my chrome wheels for your silver set?

We do not offer this type of exchange, but we can de-chrome your wheels and have them refinished or powder coated in the color of your choice IF they are not corroded and do not have irreparable damage.  We may have other options for you, or you can purchase a set of silver wheels outright, subject to availability.  Please contact us at info@lawheel.com or (818) 626-8867 or toll free at (800) 584-2832.
